What a fun time at our May Networking Event with pizza, great ideas, and meeting three grad students including our Graduate Student Representative for CSUS, Andrew Grattobachman. Mary brought resources from the Placer County Business Advantage Network.
Ideas discussed for the coming year include:
- Coordinating with the Student Counseling Society to recruit active CSUS College of Education students and upcoming graduates to participate in CCDA.
- Hosting a BBQ at Nancy Miller’s home for welcoming grad students at the beginning of the Fall 2016 semester.
- Organize an event focusing on the entrepreneurial aspects and opportunities in career / workforce development, possibly a panel.
- Finding opportunities for touring local businesses, possibly Hacker Lab in Sacramento, to greater understand their industries.
We are looking for volunteers to help us keep the momentum going and coordinate future events. Volunteering is fun and can be a boost to your career as Michelle Beese explains in the Career Convergence article, Developing Diverse Leadership Experiences: An Interview With Michelle Beese.
There are a variety of volunteer and leadership opportunities with SAC-CCDA. Let us know how you would like to be involved. Contact us at: [email protected].
